Hands-On Caregiving Support

At Crossing the Sacred Bridge with Penny, hands-on caregiving support is offered as a separate service from death doula and end-of-life care. This support is practical, non-medical, and grounded in respect, safety, and compassionate presence. This support is designed to help individuals remain supported in their own homes while easing the strain on family caregivers.

What Is Hands-On Caregiving?

How This Differs From Death Doula Support

Hands-on caregiving focuses on physical and practical care needs.

Death doula services focus on emotional, spiritual, and end-of-life support, including vigil presence, legacy work, and guidance through the dying process.

Some families utilize both services at different times; others need only one. We will always discuss what level of support feels most appropriate.

Dementia Care Considerations

Dementia and memory-related conditions can affect each person differently and may change over time. Hands-on caregiving support is offered with patience, respect, and attention to safety; however, this care is non-medical and does not replace skilled nursing, medical supervision, or memory care facilities when higher levels of support are required.

Services are best suited for individuals who can be supported safely in a home setting. If care needs increase beyond what can be provided safely, this will be discussed openly and compassionately with family members so additional support or referrals can be explored. For safety and well-being, caregiving support may be paused or adjusted if a client exhibits behaviors that place themselves or others at risk, or if medical intervention becomes necessary.
